LWCI founder and CEO Dr Sam Mings initially announced the Award from Beijing during the Summer Olympics as Mark and Delma Tronson had established their international prayer network for the outreach team in Beijing.
"The international Beijing prayer network was led by our five elderly praying ladies who committed themselves to pray for our ministry and family members since our faith ministry's inception 27 years ago," M V Tronson explained.
"It was remarkable that these five elderly ladies in Australia led this international team of praying people".
The first week of their trip away is engaged in Mission activity.
Mark and Delma are first heading to Canada, to meet with the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Committee to consult on 'Religious Services', in which they are very experienced, having been involved in Olympic ministry since 1984, and specifically in writing protocols for Olympic Village Religious Services since 2000.
They then head to Los Angeles speaking to 'College Sports Coaches' in three city regional areas and a men's breakfast. During this time, they will be interviewed on the Dan Wooding Christian television talk show.
After receiving the award in Dallas, Texas, they will arrive home to immediately resume their 2009 'athlete respite' program with the six Australian Institute of Sport units based in SE Queensland at their 'Basil Sellers Tweed' respite facility.
It seems that their next 27 years of service to the community has already begun.
