Intersteller star Mackenzie Foy is all set to play the lead role in Walt Disney Picture's new live-action version of 'The Nutcracker'.
Ballet dancer Misty Copeland is also joining the 'the Nutcracker" movie project as the lead ballerina in the sole dance sequence.
The live action project titled "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" is based on E.T.A Hoffmann's "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" in which the young girl name Clara whose favorite toy, a Nutcracker comes to life and defeats an Evil Mouse king along with seven heads.
The story is inspired by the iconic ballet, which features Rusian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreographers Lev Ivanov and Marius Petipa most famous composition.
Foy expressed her excitement on Instragram, writing, "I'm thrilled to be a part of this amazing project with Disney and the wonderful Lasse Hallstrom."
Mark Gordon will be the producer alongside executive producer Lindy Goldstein.
The 15 year old who played the role of Matthew McConaughey's young daughter in Instersteller was previously seen playing Renesmee, the love child of Bella and Edward, in Twilight franchise. She has also previously voiced a character in The Little Prince.
'The Nutcracker' is among several live action fairy tales in the works at Disney, including 'Maleficent 2', 'Tinker Bell' and 'Beauty and the Beast'.
