Piper will speak at a 3 day national pastors' conference at the Australian Technology Park, Redfern (Sydney) from Monday 29 to Wednesday 31 August 2011.
He will also speak at a one-night-only event for over 10 000 people on the last night of the national pastors' conference.
In addition he will speak at two weekends of the engage conference for young workers at Katoomba. The trip has been organised by Katoomba Christian Convention, an inter-denominational ministry that has been providing Bible-preaching conventions in Katoomba since 1903.
Piper has been the Preaching & Vision Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Minneapolis for the past 29 years, from where he has launched the Desiring God ministry.
Beginning with his 1986 book, Desiring God: Meditations of a Christian Hedonist, Piper has encouraged millions of Christians throughout the world to delight in their relationship with God. Piper's profound words, 'God is most glorified in us, when we are most satisfied in him,' have exhorted a generation of Christians to rethink their relationship with God.
Piper's Desiring God ministry provides free access to 25 years of Piper's sermons and writings and has been a factor in making Piper one of the giants of modern Christianity.
Many of Piper's 30 books have sprung from his authoritative Bible teaching, including the recent Don't Waste Your Life publication, in which he exhorts readers to set aside the trivial pursuit of self- fulfilment so that we can develop a deeper passion for God.
When diagnosed with cancer in 2006, Piper wrote the provocative article, 'Don't Waste Your Cancer'.
