"Kim Parker is truly one of God's Choice Servants". Kim (Thrasher) Parker was an elite-level gymnast with dreams of Olympic gold from an early age. An injury at age 15 ended her Olympic dreams, but she went on to finish her high school years by setting a new record as the first high school gymnast to win the Texas State Championship for three years in a row.
She earned All-American status in every event for those three years, and she had the highest National All-Around average score. These honors and her athletic ability earned her a full athletic gymnastics scholarship to the prestigious Penn State University, where she reached All-American status.
Following graduation from Penn State with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child/Human Development, she moved to Chicago where she coached young gymnastic prodigies all before entering the corporate world in sales and marketing role.
Now her days are filled helping her husband Colin run their global marketing company, Red Giraffe; serving and loving their three children; writing (her first book was published last year); and teaching and encouraging others with biblical truth.
Her oldest son is 9 years old. At age 3 he was diagnosed with autism. At that point, Kim and Colin made the decision that she would engage in writing work that she could do from home, to be available for his needs. She welcomes the chance to minister to parents who are also tackling the challenges of autism…
The early years revealed Kim to potentially be the greatest gymnast ever. The sport dictated self-discipline, obedience, strength and tenacity, shaped her character and her love for the Lord provides the framework for her values today…
Kim 'Thrasher' Parker is a member of the 2012 Athletes Executive Committee and will be operating out of the Command Centre correlating media and press releases and will be directly accountable to LWFCI's International Operations Director, Mary Thompson as well as the 2012 International Media Chairman, Dr. Mark Tronson of Australia.
Kim's first book is titled Radical Love...Forever Changed. Her blog posts (at SimplyCreativeWriting.com) is to inspire, in any small way, those who face what seems insurmountable.
She takes direction from Isaiah 35:4 "Say to those with fearful hearts, 'Be strong, do not fear.'" The 2012 mission team' singular focus is to proclaim Christ as the 'True Star of the XXX Olympiad'.
We are cognizant the world's media is looking for stories and Kim's focus is praying for multiplication of what God has done in London and the change He can make in the lives of everyone and anyone everywhere!
