Madonna's rep is shutting down rumors that the latest leaked single from the musical icon is about Lady Gaga.
Following the release of several unfinished tracks and demos, a song titled "Two Steps Behind" became the subject of allegations that Madonna was directing it towards fellow musician Lady Gaga. With lyrics that go, "you're a copycat, get back/ I'm always on your mind" it was easy for the public to assume that it was directed specifically at Gaga who has often been the compared to the pop superstar.
But Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary, who recently hosted a Twitter Q&A for Madonna's upcoming album, Rebel Heart slams all rumors that the song was directed towards another musician at all.
"That song is NOT about Gaga or anyone in particular."
"The song is an unfinished demo she had no intention of finishing or releasing along with many others," he explain. "She has NO ill will towards Gaga. It's nonsense. She was listening to the Tony Bennett [and Gaga] album last week and appreciating it."
After the demos went public, Madonna notes how these cyber attacks can be considered as artistic rape and posted an image of a smashed iPod on her Instagram account.
