Liverpool Extend Lead!

Liverpool were less than impressive, however still managed to cruise past a gallant Watford, winning 2-0 to kick off round 17 with Saturday’s early kick off at Anfield.

The win moves Liverpool now 10 points clear of 2nd position before they head to the middle east to contest the World Club Cup. Liverpool’s Salah was on target with a brace to ensure Klopp’s men continued their undefeated start to the season.

Leicester City had a golden chance to keep on Liverpool’s tail on Saturday as relegation threatened Norwich came to visit. However Leicester struggled to break Norwich’s defence as Norwich took a well deserved lead.

Leicester did manage to score to draw the match however Rogers and Leicester will see this as a 2 points lost as they are now 10 points behind Liverpool & only 4 points clear of City who are in 3rd position. The Draw for Norwich was a great result as they are now 3 points from safety.

Manchester City travelled to out of sorts Arsenal on Sunday knowing a win would only do as they chase the leaders. With the gunners out of sorts, City struck early as De Bruyne and City ran riot scoring 3 goals in the first half to ensure the gunners remained mid table & in real danger of missing out in any of next season’s European football.

Other fixtures on the weekend saw Spurs score late on to win in the midlands away at Wolves. United & Everton drew 1-1 at Old Trafford whilst Sheff United condemned Villa to another defeat winning at home 2-0.

Bournemouth were the surprise of the weekend, scoring late on to win away at a poor Chelsea meanwhile West ham also won away, defeating Southampton with a single goal. Burnley also recorded an extremely important 3 points, winning 1-0 at home to an inform Newcastle United.
