The Premier League was back after the international break & the early kick off saw Liverpool travel to Watford. The reds clearly did not suffer from any sort of hangover with an emphatic 5-0 hammering of Watford. Firmino’s hattrick gave him the match ball.
But it was Salah’s brilliance that was on display with one of the goals of the season, with an assist that will be hard to beat.
Liverpool remained 2nd after Chelsea saw off a Galant Brentford in the West London Derby. Brentford will consider themselves unlucky as Chelsea’s keeper Mendy won a man of the match display – keeping Chelsea without conceding with his brilliance.
Downward Still For Manchester United
Manchester United continued their poor form- loosing 4-2 away at Leicester. A terrible defensive display has led to calls for Ole to go as United have struggled with some shock defeats. Leicester were worthy winners with some extremely well taken finishes- United now find themselves outside the top 4 with some tough fixtures ahead.
Manchester City kept up their impressive season with a hard fought 2-0 win over a resilient Burnley. Goals from Silva & De Bruyne ensured a win to maintain 3rd position. The loss does pose more problems for Burnley – with only 3 points this season & winless- the pressure is mounting.
And the rest of the weekend...
Other results saw Spurs win 3-2 away at Newcastle whilst Wolves came from 2-0 down to beat Villa 3-2. Southampton got back to winning ways with a 1-0 win at home to Leeds. West Ham edged out Everton 1-0. Norwich played out a 0-0 result with Brighton.
