Final preparations have started around the world for the London Olympics. The coming English Summer means athletes are fine tuning their performances. These Olympics will be like no other. Some highlights:
The promise to be the greenest Olympics ever. More recycling, less waste, bigger clean-ups. So far is has been reported 1.3 million tonnes of waste has been removed or recycled.
Creating a legacy. Lord Seb Coe's promise was that the Olympics would create a legacy of healthy Brits and sporting facilities for all. Once the Games have gone the aim is to use the energy and interest in sport as a catalyst for young Brits staying healthy.
And don't forget the main show: the athletes.
International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF) athletes of the year, Usain Bolt and Australia's Sally Person will be on the Olympic track chasing gold. In the pool the Aussie men, such as James Magnussen, will be putting their mark. On the road Australia's top cyclists, such as Tour champion Cadel Evans, will be wanting to dominate. And the list continues: basketball, hockey, boxing and even as a demonstration sport this year, line dancing.
The London Olympics start in July so get ready and let the games begin.
