
Chelsea secured 5 wins from as many matches with a 4-0 rout of Blackpool. Malouda was again on target while Drogba was again impossible to handle. Chelsea are odds on favourite to retain the title and with the form there in, you would hardly bet against them.
Arsenal blew a golden opportunity to take all 3 points at the Stadium of Light. The gunners were 1-0 up and had a penalty, however Rosicky missed the penalty and Sunderland went on to score a dramatic equaliser with seconds to play. Wenger was not happy at the chance being squandered but was happy with the performance.
Spurs suffered no hangover in their first game back after Champions league duty. They had to come from a goal down to a spirited Wolves however they scored 3 second half goals to secure their second win of the season.
The media are heaping pressure on under fire manager Manchester City Manager Mancini. The Italian showed no sign of stress though as his team performed well beating Wigan at Wigan. City could thank a tireless Tevez as the Argentinean was in top form to score a sublime chip for City's first goal. City went on to win 2-0 and will hope the result will kick start their season.
Other games on the weekend saw Aston Villa draw 1-1 with Bolton, Stoke and West Ham shared the spoils with another 1-1 draw whilst Blackburn and Fulham also finished level 1-1. West Brom kept their impressive start going with a 3-1 victory over neighbours Birmingham whilst Newcastle surprised Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park.
