Marvel's Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D has cast their new director Jason O'Mara for season 4. O'Mara will be portraying the character who is said to have Marvel roots going back to 1940s.
"Bringing Jason into the mix as the New Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. forces everyone, particularly Coulson, to reevaluate their role in the Agency," Jeph Loeb, Marvel's head of Television and executive producer said.
"Jason has both the physical presence and acting dynamics that will connect with and challenge even the most loyal agent."
O'Mara, an Irish actor who previously starred in Life on Mars, Vegas, Complications, and Terra Nova as well as a recurring role on The Good Wife, is also the voice of Batman in the current DC animation movie.
The Irish actor is another major addition for season 4, with Gabriel Luna joining the cast as Ghost Rider and Lilli Birdsell as Lucy, a beautiful woman with a very violent streak.
The show will be produced by Joss Whedon and will be co-produced by Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen.
Marvel's Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D will be returning on ABC on September 20.
