"Keith is often away, leaving Trixie to keep the home fires burning, as well as fitting in her grandmotherly duties. We appreciate how difficult 'Mission' is on all members of the family and thought that a fitting presentation from Well-Being Australia was a chance to have some time away, together."
Keith Buxton and Mark Tronson go back a long way. They are both senior Baptist ministers and share a respect for the Jewish faith, in particular, a passion for arguing against 'Replacement Theology'.
Replacement Theology is a philosophical belief system within Christendom that claims that the Church replaced the Jews in the economy of God. In this teaching, the new covenant through the Cross of Christ was initiated with those who followed Jesus Christ. The old covenant with the Jewish people had come to an end.
"The problem with Replacement Theology is that it is very selective with the biblical texts it relies on for its 'proof'," M V Tronson said. "It relegates to history the promises of God, and neglects the clear and unequivocal teaching of the Apostle Paul in Romans 11."
This opposition to Replacement Theology is a movement that has been gaining theological prominence, led first by Christian leaders who hold that God's dealing with His people did not come to an end in the first century; and secondly by the fast expanding Messianic Jewish groups who come to such a debate with more focused eyes.
But it is not only personal relationships and ministry connections that link Keith Buxton to Mark Tronson; both have led tours to the Holy Land and in more recent times, to Auschwitz in Poland.
M V Tronson in his Australian Cricket ministry role was one of 48 Gentile international delegates invited by the Israeli Government to the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and the March of the Living in 2005.
Since 2007 Keith Buxton, as the Australian Director of Bridges for Peace, now leads regular tours of Australian pilgrims to Auschwitz. Bridges of Peace head office is based in Jerusalem and amongst its many activities is a welfare arm that provides housing and food to needy Jewish people.
"On our recent Sunshine Coast mission, we were able to catch up with both Keith and Trixie, and were delighted to be able to present the Peppers Resort voucher," M V Tronson noted with pleasure.
SALT Kingscliff Peppers Resort in the Tweed, north coast of New South Wales has provided accommodation vouchers to Well-Being Australia as part of their business promotion.
