Fresh new faces and a villain that's almost impossible to beat - these are just some of the more recent news regarding the 2016 flick X-Men: Apocalypse.
The Latino Review said that the film will take place in the 1980s, with younger versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Storm.
It was reported that there are two actress up and running for the role of young Jean Grey - Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, and Saoirse Ronan from the movie Atonement.
Three actors are vying for the role of Cyclops - British actor Taron Egerton, who'll star opposite Colin Firth in Kingsman: The Secret Service, Mud star Tye Sheridan, and If I Stay actor Jamie Blackley.
Meanwhile, the young Storm contenders are either Alexandra Shipp - who played late R&B singer Aaliyah in a Lifetime movie and Disney star Zendaya, who was originally cast in the Aaliyah TV movie but later dropped out after she received negative comments from Aaliyah's family and fans.
Actor Oscar Isaac, who is sure to play the villain Apocalypse, teased that his character is definitely going to bring the X-Men down to their knees. And they just might not be able to get back up.
"I'm going to bring the X-Men down to their knees. It's amazing, I'm so excited about everything that's going to happen" he told MTV.
Apocalypse has been pegged as the most horrible villain the X-Men has ever encountered. The Marvel Comics Database revealed that Apocalypse's given name, En Sabah Nur, means "The First One."
Cinema Blend said that this suggests "that Apocalypse might be the first mutant in existence. He was born with grey skin and blue traces around his features, and had powerful gifts from the time of his birth. Apocalypse's various powers include flight, invulnerability, superhuman strength, teleportation, telekinesis ... basically, he's invincible."
