
The senior centre court player who helped lead our girls to a silver medal in Delhi last month, was awarded a $5,000 cheque and was handed a one carat diamond from last year's winner, Julie Corletto.
"It's not what we play for, but it always great to come away with an award." Von Bertouch said.
"If only we had won the Gold medal, then I could say it's been the perfect year"
The Diamond combines votes for performances in both the national competition and international matches, and is named after former national team captain and Australia's most capped player of all time, Liz Ellis.
The 28-year-old South Australian, also has 59 Test caps under her belt, and captained the first Adelaide side to win the Trans-Tasman Championship.
The Adelaide Thunderbirds victory coupled with her contribution to the win saw von Bertouch also take home the Australian Trans-Tasman Championship Player of the Year award.
Former Thunderbirds team-mate and co-captain, Mo'onia Gerrard, also walked away from the evening with a prize, laying claim to the International Player of the Year award for the second time.
Gerrard has left the Thunderbirds to join the New South Wales Swifts for the 2011 season.
The Thunderbirds continued their award sweep, with Coach of the Year going to Jane Woodlands-Thompson.
Australian captain Sharelle McMahon proved that she was still one of the most popular players of all time, winning the Australia's Favourite Diamond award.
There were ten inductees into the 2010 Netball Hall of Fame, five former Diamonds stars as well as umpires, coaches and administrators.
