An audio version of the 'Original GoBible' using the New International Version (NIV) platform is now available with a person involved in this project describing it as an 'innovative way to reach countless of people' who have shunned the printed version of the Bible.
Steve Johnson, the global publisher for IBS-STL, a Christian ministry that holds the copyright of the NIV, said the partnership, dedicated to developing and distributing the original 'GoBible' in the NIV format, would enable the Scripture to be delivered to people in a dynamic and new format.
"So many people in our modern world are turning away from the printed page. Because of this, we think it's critical to reach people with Scripture in new, innovative ways," Mr. Johnson said.
"The combination of the GoBible and the NIV as the most trusted English translation is a marriage that will reach countless people with God's Word in a dynamic, new format."
Andrew Block, the President of the GoBible, said the original GoBible represented a major breakthrough in religion and technology.
Max McLean, a critically-acclaimed narrator and who serves as the President of the Fellowship for the Performing Arts, was thrilled about the prospect of reaching into new and expanding markets with this technology.
Weighing about as much as the AAA battery that powers it, the small hand-held device comes preloaded with the entire audio version of the Bible and is supported by new technology which allows users to scan through various books, chapters and verses of the Old and New Testaments by using the interactive menu on its LCD screen.
Currently, all other audio versions of the Bible are recorded and indexed at the chapter level only, while GoBible's patent pending technology allows the user to search for, begin play and bookmark any individual verse in the entire Bible.
