Several people were injured Thursday after a suicide bomber attacked a Christian church in northeast Nigeria.
According to Al Jazeera, a suicide bomber on board his motorbike arrived at Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) during a church service in Gombe.
In the report, the man refused to park his motorcycle outside the concrete barrier placed by church volunteers outside the gate.
During the altercation with the volunteers, the bomb attached to the man's belt reportedly blew up, injuring several people.
"Luckily no one was killed but some people were mildly injured", said Abubakar Yakubu of the Nigeria Red Cross in Gombe.
While there are still no clear suspects as to whom plotted the suicide bombing, the report points that this may be another terrorist attack from Nigerian group Boko Haram.
In recent weeks, the terrorist group has used young woman and girls in carrying out its suicide bombing activities throughout the northeastern part of Nigeria. To create minimum suspicion, the group may have sent a male suicide bomber instead.
ECWA, also known as Evangelical Church of West Africa is reportedly one of the biggest Christian denominations in Nigeria, as it reaches more than 5 million people.
Nigeria will be holding its national elections in February, though experts have cast doubt that the government will be able to contain the terrorist attacks throughout the country.
