A new pastor for a Baptist church in Milton Keynes has angered the community in the wake of building his house on top of a former graveyard near the church.
Rev. Wayne Dulson, who has just been installed as the new pastor in Loughton Baptist Church, has reportedly ordered that his family home be built next to the church on top of the area which was a former graveyard for the departed in the community of Loughton.
According to the report by the Daily Mail, townsfolk said some of the graves in the area have been there since 1860, and were supposed to be their 'final resting place'.
Residents near the area said they are 'disgusted' at Rev. Dulson and Loughton Baptist Church's lack of sensitivity over the matter. Some people even think that it was all for money.
Locals said that there is a good four-room house near the Essex church that was sold for £630,000, while the new one the church is building could be well worth £1 million once completed.
To make matters worse, the team in charge of the transfer of bones from the former graveyard did little in securing the place. The report said that children were able to clearly see the bones as they were being transferred to their new coffins.
"Whatever happened to rest in peace? We woke up to the sound of a JCB out the back and you could see them loading coffins from the back garden'', said July Hart, one of the residents in Loughton.
