Pitch Perfect 3 has a premiere date! Mark your calendars for the December 22, 2017. Although the movie was originally slated for a July 2017 release, it has since been pushed back to the holidays end of next year.
With a little more than a year to go, filming for the third chapter of the much-loved musical is yet to begin. Rumors circulating indicate some changes to the cast that fans have come to love and adore.
First, let's get the downers out of the way. Amy Kaufman from the Los Angeles Times tweeted:
"Adam DeVine told me that he's probably not going to be in "Pitch Perfect 3." DeVine, who played Bumper in the first two installments of the Pitch Perfect series, confessed, "I don't even know if I'm going to be in it. I think it was, like, script stuff. They haven't fully locked up the story. They did not have me sign on."
The second movie saw Fat Amy and Bumper fall in love. And doing away with Bumper's character in the upcoming movie will mean robbing fans of a chance to see where their love story goes. But there's a silver lining to this. According to Vine Report, rumors suggest that Zac Efron of High School Musical fame may be joining the cast as Bumper's younger brother.
Meanwhile, there seems to be some rough patches when it comes to the central character herself. Anna Kendrick, who plays the leady lady, is reportedly caught up in completing her memoir Scrappy Little Nobody. Parent Herald notes that owing to her tight schedule, there were conjectures in the rumor mill that Kendrick might possibly not return for the third movie. However, other reports continue to include her as a part of the main cast. So all in all, it seems like Kendrick will return with the rest of the Bellas next year.
