Nintendo's 'Pokemon Go', the latest sensation in the gaming industry, has kicked off talk for a full-fledged live-action Hollywood movie. The developers of the game recently acquired a huge US$9 billion stock price rise after the game was launched in America earlier this month.
According to Deadline, producer 'Legendary Pictures' behind blockbuster titles 'The Dark Knight trilogy', 'Godzilla', and 'Warcraft', is very close to sealing a deal for the live-action movie rights of a Pokemon movie.
There is speculation that the biggest video-game movie rights agreement is bound to be of worth around $5 million. In addition, there have been reports of a potential Pokemon pictures for some time, and every single franchise-hungry studio has been in the mix to get it.
Earlier, it was also reported that the Legendary Pictures was about to crack a deal but then everything went quiet. Presently, the rumors of the movie have again gained some momentum as 'Pokemon Go' sweeps the attention of nations.
In 'Pokemon Go', players chase down virtual Pokémon in the real world. Amid all the buzz related to movie rights and a possibly upcoming live-action movie, it was announced by ZhugeEX Blog, that the game won't be launched in China, South Korea or Taiwan, which are the 1st, 4th and 10th largest mobile markets in the world respectively.
