Years ago when our eldest was still a toddler, we made the decision as a family to sponsor a child her age. We had been blessed; blessed with the joy of a promised child, blessed with a safe and secure home, and having witnessed God meet our every need as a young family, we wanted to invest the faithfulness we'd received into the lives of another family for each of our children.
This little boy's photograph caught our attention at a Compassion Australia ministry night. Lkirimis, from Kenya's east coast.
Over the years, we've prayed that this little one would grow to know and love his saviour, just as my own children grow. In the beautiful way God's plans unfold, his latest letter revealed the most amazing happenstance.
Two years ago on a missions trip, I had the honour of leading a seminar on children's ministry at a conference for church leaders in Western Kenya. Since then, not only has our dear little friend relocated to Western Kenya, he is now part of a children's program run by the same church body; no doubt being taught by some of the very same children's leaders I met in 2019.
As the due date of our third baby quickly approaches, we look forward to adding a third sponsor child to our extended global family, and watching our testimonies intertwine as small parts in the grand story of God's redeeming love.
