Registration for PlayStation 4's next system software update has opened and will be active till early August when the beta starts. Those who are keen to test the beta can sign-up early to get a look prior to the launch.
"We've been hard at work on the next PS4 system software update, and could use your help testing it ahead of the official launch," wrote John Koller, Vice President and PlayStation Brand Marketing in a blog post on Tuesday.
"Starting today, you can sign up for a chance to be a beta tester and get an advance look at some of the improvements and new features coming to PS4."
Users should be 18 or above to register as a beta tester.
The company has a history of using audience feedback as an integral part of making further developments to their products.
Previously they ran a similar beta test for the PS4's 3.00 and 3.50 system software updates. Before the official launch, participants got the chance to preview upcoming features.
To sign-up, a user has to have a PS4 with an internet connection along with access to a Master account. If the user is part of the program, he or she will receive instructions for downloading the beta version.
According to Koller, the user can roll back to the previous system software, version 3.55, at any time.
