On the 1st April 2006, running two shows, Bible Society NSW in conjunction with Adventist Media brought the story of Jesus last days on earth through a musical performance with guest singer Marina Prior to the people who gave it a warm welcome.
The musical performance going to be broadcast by Channel 7 on Easter Friday and presented on radio format by FM103.2 started with an introduction by Daniel Wills the CEO of the Bible Society of NSW.
Reverend Wills gave exciting news stating Bible Society NSW in partnership with Samaritan’s Purse had launched a joint appeal for Cambodia named ‘Audio Development Project’ where Bible Society would bring the Scriptures in an audio format while Samaritan’s Purse would bring much needed humanitarian aid to the poverty stricken country.
The reverend went on to say he prayed that through the ‘Celebration of the Word and Song with Marina Prior playing an integral role, many thousands of people would understand the true meaning of Easter as they watched the Celebration of Word and Song.’
Reverend Keith Garner the Superintendent of Wesley Mission opened the performance with a prayer and the show begun with the testimony of Apostle Peter about the life of Jesus.
The performance was also interactive where the participants got to participate through singing a few of the songs as well which was appreciated by many. The most touching scene was when Jesus was praying at Gethsemane with a few tears being shed by the audience where Jesus was praying with a sorrowful heart before he was being arrested.
After the performance many participants gave glowing testimony about the performance especially Marina singing.
