Pastor Saeed Abedini, one of the prisoners held by the Iranian government recounted the moments of his release, and suspicions that the Obama administration paid the ransom of US $400 million to free them.
Abedini spent three years in prison and was released in January earlier this year, the same day the alleged payment took place.
He divulged to Fox Business Network that a plane was waiting for them on the day of their release when he and the other prisoners were taken to the Tehran airport.
However, they had to wait for a long time until a second plane came, where Abedini suspected may have contained the ransom for their release.
He revealed that the plane did not depart on same day and were flown out only the next day. "They didn't talk about money," he told Fox Business Network, but added that they all had their suspicions.
The Obama administration has vehemently denied paying a ransom to free the prisoners.
"We call them terrorists and I don't believe they are going to use this money for building orphanages, which I was arrested for, but I prefer that the politicians answer this question," said Abedini.
"I'm very grateful about my release and freedom, but there are some people still left behind and Christians who are still in prison," he continued. "Two days ago some of my friends ... have been executed because of their faith. Every Wednesday they execute 100 people."
