The third book in the series named after the Chapman’s adopted daughter Shaohannah “Shaoey” (pronounced show-ee) Hope, “A Thunder And Lightning Bug Story” shares the story of a little girl named Shaoey and her ladybug friend named Dot as together they help others conquer their fear of the dark. Dot teaches Shaoey and the young readers that the dark is just a place where the lights are off, and that God is everywhere, even in the dark.
Filled with delightfully whimsical illustrations from Mary Beth’s brother, Jim Chapman, who also illustrated the first two books, the “Shaoey & Dot” picture book series truly is a family affair. Other books in the series include the “Bug Meets Bundle” and “A Christmas Miracle,” which hit stores last fall.
