Spurs stun City to go top!

By Wesley Tronson - Press Service International

After the latest International break Spurs hosted Man City in a hotly anticipated fixture that many thought would test Tottenham’s strong start to the year.

However the East London club stood tough and dominated a lacklustre Man City. Spurs opened brightly with Son scoring early before Kane had a tight offside ruled against him.

City had a few chances however it was substitute Celso who was on the pitch for no more than 30 seconds that stole the show with a low strike into the corner of the net to give Spurs their 6th win of the season & see them lead the league into the last week of November.

Newcastle v Chelsea

With the UK in lockdown all matches have been spread evenly to give viewers plenty of options and the first match of the weekend saw Chelsea travel north to Newcastle.

Chelsea have been quietly going about their business of late & continued an impressive professional performance with a 2-0 win. Abraham scored just after the hour to ensure Chelsea cement 3rd position only 2 points off leaders Spurs.

Liverpool v Leicester City

Liverpool hosted Leicester City at home showing their strength in depth with many injuries. The squad was tested however came out emphatic 3-0 winners at home. Liverpool are now joint on top & look extremely solid as they enter the busy winter period.

Leicester had their 3rd loss of the season but are still 4th as they look to bounce back next week.

And the Rest

Other entertaining fixtures included a drama filled scoreless draw with Leeds hosting Arsenal. The gunners had a man sent for a headbutt whilst Leeds hit the post 3 times including with 3 minutes remaining however couldn’t find the winner.

Aston Villa lost 2-1 to Brighton at Home after impressive previous form, whilst Manchester United limped to a 1-0 home win over West Brom thanks to a re taken penalty. Sheff United continued their dreadful season with a 1-0 home loss to West Ham whilst in London Fulham conceded 3 goals in the first half to eventually loose 3-2 to the ever-impressive Toffees.
