A United States-based startup, Andromium Inc, has rolled a smart laptop shell 'Superbook', which transforms your Android smartphone into a fully-functional laptop computer system.
The device makes for more convenient and reasonable use for people especially those living in developing countries including India and South Africa. The device enables the user to carry their office in their pocket.
The Superbook makes an Android smartphone productivity appear very much like a desktop setting. The shell can be termed as an essential "dumb terminal," which is a notebook without a processor but with a trackpad, display, keyboard, and battery.
The developer, Andromium rolled out the shell as an ambitious product on Kickstarter, which is a website meant to bring out and stage creative projects to actual life. As of now, the Superbook is offered at a price of US $99.
The Superbook is developed by Andrew Jiang along with his team at Andromium. The device provides a keyboard, a large screen and multi-touch trackpad along with over eight hours of battery life as well as phone-charging facilities.
How does it work?
When the shell is plugged into the Android smartphone, it starts an app to perform a full laptop experience. Andrew says that the app is fundamentally Android Continuum, which lets users work impeccably by changing itself from phone to notebook. He also says with desktop-type browsing, users can easily access office applications including sheets, and the device even works well for coding as well as programming. All such option gives limitless opportunities for workflow.
