With the second season of Supergirl premiering in October, the CW network is eager to take full advantage of the three other DC shows that it hosts.
According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, Sharon Leal, who is famous for her role in Boston Public, has been roped in to play Miss Martian on Supergirl's season 2. Aside from this, Tyler Hoechlin will play Superman, and Chris Wood will be seen as Mon-El.
As for new plotlines in store for fans, there seem to be more villains waiting for Supergirl. Yibada reports that Project Cadmus will play a major role this season. The show's executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that this organization was responsible for holding Jeremiah Danvers captive.
"Project Cadmus is dedicated to eradicating alien life on Earth. They're fanatics. They're true believers. It's a collection of scientists, of very bright, patriotic people who truly believe what they're saying. That makes them even more dangerous," Kreisberg stated.
Considering that Supergirl, Superman, and Hank are aliens as well, they are likely to become the primary targets for the people involved in Project Cadmus. A new female villain named The Doctor will take on the role of the lead scientist in the project. Supergirl sure has a lot on her plate in the upcoming season.
Speaking to Screen Rant, Kevin Smith, the director of one of the new episodes titled 'Supergirl Lives,' confessed, "I'm happy to see any show that puts a positive spin on this stuff. It's a big boys club, we all know that, superheroes and stuff. But that's not true. There's a lot of girls and women out there that love this, but you've got to give it to them at a young age. With this show, you'll have a whole generation of girls growing up thinking about Supergirl the way I thought about Superman."
Meanwhile, in other related news, a musical crossover between Supergirl and The Flash is in the works. The crossover will include songs by Melissa Benoist, Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, Jeremy Jordan, John Barrowman, among others.
