Tickets are now available for Switchfoot's 2015 Australian tour, which will be held on March 31 at 170 Russel Street, Melbourne, on April 1 at HiFi, Sydney, and on April 2 at Toowoomba, Queensland.
The Melbourne concert is only for individuals 18 years old and above, while the Sydney concert is open for all ages. General admission costs AUD$56 while the VIP tickets, which would include an exclusive meet and greet with the band and a stock tour poster, among many others, cost AUD$158.
Meanwhile, Switchfoot's Toowoomba concert will be part of Easterfest 2015. They will be one of the many musical acts of the three-day event. Ticket prices range from AUD$80 for a child to AUD$140 for a youth or pensioner, to AUD$160 for an adult.
Switchfoot is composed of lead vocalist Jon Foreman, bass guitarist and backing vocals Tim Foreman, drummer Chad Butler, guitarist and keyboard player Jerome Fontamillas, and guitarist and backing vocals Drew Shirley. They gained mainstream fame when four of their songs made it to the 'A Walk to Remember' soundtrack.
Although they have been labelled as a Christian rock band, lead singer Jon Foreman disagreed. "How can a song be 'Christian'? There is no such thing as Christian music. No. Christ didn't come and die for my songs, he came for me," he said in an interview with Christian Today late last year.
Their latest album, The Edge of the Earth, features seven unreleased songs from their film Fading West. It is also the first time for bass guitarist Tim Foreman to sing the lead in a song - "What It Costs." Other songs in the album are "Fading West", "Against the Voices", "Skin and Bones", "Slow Down My Heartbeat", "Liberty", and "The Edge of the Earth."
The band says the album covers a lot of "emotional territory" and has so far received positive reviews.
