|PIC1|Throughout March and April, two former Compassion assisted children, Mike Matumaini and Oswald Basoka, originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, will take to stages across Eastern Australia from Queensland's Easterfest to Sydney's premier venue The Basement, sharing their songs of hope and purpose rising from turmoil and tragedy.
Joined by childhood friend Kosto Zahinda and Mike's Rwandan wife Christelle K Mugeni, the Sowers Group will mesmerise audiences with gospel grooves and traditional rhythms from Rwanda, DR Congo and Tanzania.
"These guys have an astonishing personal story of escaping conflict and surviving war," says Australian tour keyboard player, Andy Sorenson of Translator Records and Musical Arts Mission."They have moved from country to country, learning six languages along the way, in an attempt to leave behind the poverty of their upbringing and inspire thousands with their music and message".
The Sowers Group will tour throughout Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland as well as venues in New Zealand during March and April. For more information and tour dates, visit http://www.compassion.com.au or www.translatorrecords.com.
Cheza!, the group's latest album recorded in Tanzania, is available from Koorong, The Planet Company, iTunes and all major retail stores.
