
The conference is aim at challenging the participants to be ‘more creative in teaching and encouraging teenagers.’ Jon Thorpe a Youth Consultant from the Youtworks Western Region is hoping to see a ‘better equipped and energise youth workers to continue their respective ministries.’
Mr. Thorpe says: The theme of ‘The Living and Active Word’ is to encourage young people to take the word of God seriously within their respective youth groups so it will spur them to grown as Christians by getting to know God through His word.”
The Sydneyanglicans.net reported four workshops and five main sessions will be conducted in the conference where Mr. Thorpe says: “The speakers (including Sydney Anglicans LT Hopper, Bill Salier, Andrew Katay and Al Stewart) always have something insightful to consider for youth work.”
Hayden Smith a youth minister from Ingleburn says the conference allows him to explore: “The different views in regards to the aspects and approaches of a youth ministry in a broader context.” He further added: “It is great…to find opportunities to think through youth ministry and share views and opinions on different styles of it.”
