The AGMF, supported by a broad coalition, including the Toowoomba Christian communities, had a purpose of not only drawing tourists in, but was also a demonstration of the strong Christian unity within the Toowoomba community, said Wes Jay, publicists for AGMF.
Unlike other Christian music events around the world, AGMF had a community theme to it, and could be described more precisely as a community festival, said Jay. The venue for AGMF, Queens Park, was located close to the centre of the city. This close proximity allowed Christians to interact with the community.
In addition to the music, which includes performance by Michelle Turner whose new song Domine is one of the most played songs on Australian independent radio (according to The Rock Across Australia), the festival will also have rides and a humours title ball known as ‘Fancy Pants’ Ball.
Last year Easter Sunday Service drew in a congregation size of more than 15,000 people, according to Jay, and the CEO of AGMF Isaac Moody cannot wait for this year AGMF who said, “AGMF 07 is shaping up to be the “best festival yet!”
