Victor is a company director, and is married to Ruth. They have four children and are now grandparents.
His church is the largest in the city and was founded as the first English speaking church in the region, and has since given birth to numerous other English speaking Baptist churches; which in turn have planted additional English speaking churches.
This phenomenal growth, from 4,000 to 10,000 churches in ten years, has been one of the hallmarks of Baptist church expansion in Nigeria.
"In my view, this has been achieved by the emphasis on 'outreach' in Nigerian Baptist work," said Victor Durodola. "Our success is second to none in West Africa, and we hope to double that number of churches to 20,000 Baptist congregations by 2015."
Victor Durodola is a senior executive of a Nigerian company which is of one of the nation's largest operations; a company that includes farming interests, manufacturing, a huge bagging industry such as cement bags, quarrying, and other 'on the ground' areas. It is owned by the former President of Nigeria, and is one of many such companies that are providing a growing middle class with solid incomes throughout the nation.
This has been one of the benefits for Christian work in the nation, in that it has afforded financial giving to Baptist work throughout Nigeria, especially in outreach and evangelism.
