Within the first half of 2015, the Samsung smart televisions will gain access to the PlayStation Now game streaming.
Tech giants Samsung and Sony are teaming up to provide gamers a festive delight, which is the access to PlayStation games with the absence of PlayStation on Samsung TVs.
The Samsung internet-connected televisions in Canada and US will be capable of accessing the PlayStation Now service and allows users to stream games from the internet directly to the TV without the need of a PlayStation console. A Sony Dualshock controller is needed, but once plugged in, all the user needs to do is to fire up an application on the TV and he or she can select from more than 200 PS3 games to begin playing right away.
Downloads are no longer needed since the games are streamed direct form the cloud. A user can play games with online friends and save his progress in the cloud all set to pick up the next time where he left off. Streaming does imply lag can be a problem; however, the user has to make certain that his internet connection is excellent to give justice to the game.
There is no exact date offered yet for this new service and the company has not given any response up to now to a call for more information on whether this service will be available outside Canada and United States.
In the meantime, participants of the gadget bonanza the "Consumer Electronics Show 2015" will get a sneak preview next month. This is the time when Samsung smart televisions showcase PlayStation Now at the enormous trade show. Attendees will bring all their first impressions, exclusive first glances and hands-on videos.
In addition, the PlayStation 4 special edition was uncovered this month during Sony's celebration of their "20th anniversary of the classic PlayStation console." The console was initially released on the 3rd of December 1994 in Japan.
