The 2019 Tony Dunkerley sport young writer award was awarded on Saturday at the Press Service International (PSI) young writers annual conference at the Craigieburn Salvation Army in Melbourne.

These sport panellists have been marking the sport articles since 2013 with much aplomb. Peter Nelson 30 years AIS chaplain, Simon Farrer a retired senior Government senior officer, John Skinner a national rodeo judge, Josh Robbie and Tim the international panellist components.

The late Tony Dunkerley a former Victoria Football President, Australian Joeys Assistance Coach, Australian Under Age Football Coach, Victorian Under 21 and Junior aged coach. Tony came with the outreach team on numerous Country Town Tours speaking at sport rallies, schools, service clubs … Tony spoke at numerous young writer conferences.

The Chairman’s award is a fifth award each year by Dr Mark Tronson (Chairman of Well-Being Australia) for someone who is demonstrating ‘something other’ to the young writer program.

Australia - Lucy Miles
Manual Teofilo has cerebral palsy and plays a significant role with the Kiwi young writers in month about sending the daily Kiwi article to NZ Christian media.
Lucy Miles a young 18 year old travelled to Switzerland for three months with YWAM for Discipleship Training School and is returning in October for a YWAM leadership course and then taking a leadership role.

Brisbane’s Bridget Brenton was again the official video producer and the finished product for the 2019 conference will be highlighted next week.
Dr Mark Tronson is a Baptist minister (retired) who served as the Australian cricket team chaplain for 17 years (2000 ret) and established Life After Cricket in 2001. He was recognised by the Olympic Ministry Medal in 2009 presented by Carl Lewis Olympian of the Century. He mentors young writers and has written 24 books, and enjoys writing. He is married to Delma, with four adult children and grand-children. Dr Tronson writes a daily article for Christian Today Australia (since 2008) and in November 2016 established Christian Today New Zealand.
