“The first step in liquidating a people is to erase its memory. Destroy its books, its culture, its history. Then have somebody write new books, manufacture a new culture, invent a new history. Before long that nation will begin to forget what it is and what it was... The struggle of man against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting.” Milan Kundera
For anyone who could see past the man and view the policies Donald J Trump was the best President of America in my lifetime.
Okay, you are either still reading or have already worked out this article isn’t for you. Let’s see if I can lose the ones still reading. Yes, it’s a strange approach to take. I’ve just started writing for another media company and one of their key metrics is to not get someone to click the back button and spend as much time on their site as possible. So why am I trying to ditch you in this article?
I’m honestly not trying to get you to stop reading, but I’m also not delusional about how many today chose to not be honest. I just finished watching a movie about a woman who waited minutes before her wedding to tell her husband to be, that years ago she had been in a relationship with his best mate. It struck me as interesting as just the week before I’d been party to such a conversation between friends about whether the other would want to know if they had been cheated on years before (as a hypothetical). That conversation came about after watching a documentary about the man who started the Promise Keepers movement.
Honesty and Integrity are two strong character traits often overlooked for more superficial and temporal things. This is why I’ve titled this month’s post be your own Moses. Moses was a murder yet do you see him as a murder or the man who led the Israelites out of Egypt? David was an adulterer and a murder how do you perceive him? I could list almost any “Christian Hero” out of the bible that Christians put on a pedestal as a pillar of the faith while overlooking their shortcomings.
What about our more modern “Christian Leaders”?
What about you? Are you able to cast the first stone?
There were many that felt dismayed when Joe Biden took over from Donald Trump as President of America. When you look past both men and purely look at their policies I can understand why. But this isn’t Egypt and yet the society I see is one just as if not more so enslaved.
We aren’t beaten if we don’t work, no it’s much worse than that we have so much we are afraid of losing it. This is why my challenge to you this month is to be your own Moses. Set yourself free and by doing so maybe you will inspire others to free themselves.
I wrote last month asking what you would be willing to lose this year to stand up for what you believe. Since then we have seen a major TV star fired for publicly expressing her views. I wish I could have included this video in my last article, but I’ll share it with you now.
She isn’t a lone voice. This isn’t an isolated incident. At what point will you take a stand. At what point will you push back. If you are relying on your leaders to do something are you getting in their ear? Irrespective of where you are reading this from how many times have you contacted your elected officials this year about the laws they are passing? No not last year, this year. Do you even know what they stand for? I’ve seen plenty of discussions online already about voter remorse. Do the research before voting, yes it takes time but it’s your life isn’t that worth the time.
Aside from contacting your leaders though what else can you do? I can write this article what can you do. And before anyone accuses me of inciting something I didn’t, let me be very clear I am not advocating for violence. Considering what we have seen transpire since my last article do you have time to wait till the next one before doing something?
Maybe your friends, family, community are safe for now, but for how much longer?
If you are still reading please I beg you, use the power you have as a restored Son or Daughter of God and be your own Moses!

Prologue: A friend died before I had submitted this so it’s dedicated to his completion of living out the great commission. I always write these as if they were my last. I never thought I’d be writing one just before someone I loved left us. Pepe this one is for you.
