In 2005, I was at Hillsong Conference. My first ever experience at a conference with thousands of people. I remember the first night as we sang the worship anthem “How Great is our God.” A choir declaring in a stadium the greatness of our God.
One of the most breath-taking moments of my Christian journey was hearing thousands of people breaking in worship that moved Heaven on Earth. I couldn't sing for a moment as I was overwhelmed by the fact that there were nations presented in this building lifting up worship to our great God.
Have you been in moments in worship where the Holy Spirit takes your breath away by his love lavishing upon you? Today, I want to encourage somebody to go deeper in their worship to our God.
Finding ourselves in worship
As a child I was born with a disorder that crippled me physically. The Holy Spirit had to take me on a journey to discover who I was and what my God given identity is. I was called to walk in the worship of my Saviour and King.
When I was four years old I gave my heart to Jesus and I was always born to worship. I would wake up at 5:30am in the morning and turn on Hillsong Music as loud as possible. I would worship Jesus with everything that was in me.
There were a couple of times when neighbours would ring up my parents and complain. But I was so passionate for worship. Now I can't sing but my heart to worship my Saviour has always echoed in the depth of my heart.
I believe the Holy Spirit is awakening spirit and truth worship back into his people. I believe we need to sing a new song so that the world will come to salvation. When we are down, we need to come into a place of worship. Worship isn't about us, but it is about giving God glory as he alone is worthy of all our praise.
The power of worship
Worship enables us to press into his presence and to see him for who he is even inspite of life's circumstances. You may be reading this and you are going through a battle in your life. I want to encourage you today that it is worship that gets us through every battle.
I remember when I was twelve years old and I had a transition out of Primary School and into college here in New Zealand. I went through a mental break down due to how I was being treated at school.
I remember having the thoughts of taking my life but let me say as I worship Jesus through the pain of bullying I was getting at school, my Heavenly Father brought me through that season through worship. Worship is our weapon against the enemy. We are called to bring Heaven to earth through our worship.
The devil always like to distract us from the presence of God so all we do all the time is to focus on our problem rather than our God. When we worship his power, life is being poured out into our lives. We are forever changed by spending one moment in his presence.
If you are struggling today, can I encourage you to take time out and just spendtime worshipping him. Maybeit is turning on yourSpotify account and downloading worship. Maybe it is going for a walk along the ocean and worshipping him or maybe it is going into your prayer room and reflecting on his Goodness.
Whatever it is, today I encourage you to get before the Lord and just simply worship him for who he is and watch miracles and blessings flow from that place of worship.
I will finish with this thought. Your private devotionwill reflect your public confession. How we worship God in the secret place is a reflection in how we proclaim Christ in the world around us. Our Worship will impact those around us.
