Stepping into new territory takes a heck of a lot of courage. As if we are walking onto a freshly frozen lake we are cautious. Testing. We think we may have heard from God, the still small whisper of the Holy Spirit and we’ve become a touch uncomfortable. This word is still new, we’re mulling, praying, seeking a bit more confirmation.
Clarify the call
Firstly, we want to be assured we have heard from God. We need to pray, pray, pray and ask for clarity and direction. To get into the word of God and expect Him to speak.
To get together with people who passionately love the Lord and who we love and trust. To use them as a sounding board and ask for their wisdom. To get these trusted friends to pray around this with us also.
Likely if the thing we think God may be calling us to do is going to bring blessing to others, blessing to us, glory to God and make us feel just a touch like we’re about to bungee jump into the unknown we’re on a winner.
Prepare
We’ve got the green light! Now is the time to get our feelers out! What do we need to know that we don’t already? Will we need to upskill? Who is doing this already who we can come alongside and learn from? What resources are we going to need? We need to research our hearts out until we know exactly what will be involved.
Go
Now we go in faith! We’re in the stream of God’s will. He will continue to open doors for us and do miraculous and amazing things to provide for us, sustain us, work through us. We will receive the very power of God, God Himself with us and for us. And we will look back and be astounded by the amazing things God has done!
Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. - Hebrews chapter 13 verses 20 – 21
