The 2019 New Zealand Basil Sellers Award Winner ‘Rebecca Howan’ awarded on Saturday at the Press Service International (PSI) young writers annual conference at the Craigieburn Salvation Army in Melbourne.
The 2019 Kiwi 18-30 years Panellists marked the young writers over the first 6 months of the year – and many marked in decimal points with such minimal decimal differences it was determined to award three young writers the Basil Sellers.

Rebecca Howan
Rebecca Howan is from Wellington, New Zealand, where she works as an Executive Assistant in the humanitarian sector. She worships and serves at The Salvation Army, and is passionate about music, travelling the world and building community. Rebecca is also a member of the New Zealand Youth Choir involving many tours.

Dr. Daniel Thomas is a West Indies medical doctor and Christian Advocate who loves the Lord deeply. He currently leads a youth organization called the Love March Movement which is committed to empowering the youth to fight for sexual purity and the family in Jamaica.

Mr Basil Sellers AM supports the young writers – a ministry of Press Service International (PSI) in conjunction with Christian Today.
Dr Mark Tronson is a Baptist minister (retired) who served as the Australian cricket team chaplain for 17 years (2000 ret) and established Life After Cricket in 2001. He was recognised by the Olympic Ministry Medal in 2009 presented by Carl Lewis Olympian of the Century. He mentors young writers and has written 24 books, and enjoys writing. He is married to Delma, with four adult children and grand-children. Dr Tronson writes a daily article for Christian Today Australia (since 2008) and in November 2016 established Christian Today New Zealand.
