Focus on the things that matter.
I've found that the best way to live a life of blessing, joy, fulfillment, and one without regret as a Christian, is to live simply to please God. If you singularly make that your priority, it will shape everything you do.
You will be fruitful. Your focus will be on Him, and the things that please Him. It will structure your behaviors so that you avoid those things that displease Him, and perform in the areas that are fruitful and productive for His agenda.
Living to please Him empties us of selfish ambition. We make the most of our time, to "redeem" it. How can we use our time in the most productive, or least wasteful fashion? When not investing into others, building the church, family and sowing into our acquaintances and colleagues, the next best thing is prayer.
Prayer
Paul prayed constantly, that's devotion. But simply being aware of God and enjoying life with Him, while communicating throughout the day is more than sufficient.
Those committed and devoted to God, find that prayer is very important. It can become addictive even once we realise the difference it makes for our peace, covering and protection, not only for us but for those we pray for.
Praying for the needs of others is fundamentally a selfless action that pleases God. But also a highly effective one for those who live a moral life. It benefits not only us but the target of our prayers. It can make all the difference.
Intercession
God will often only intervene when people reach out in prayer and faith, and it rests on us to intercede for others to bring them through adversity.
This is a pleasing ministry to God and probably the most important way of maintaining our devotion and focus on Him, as prayer is the very avenue of us knowing and communicating with Him.
The blessed and pleasing life to God is one soaked in prayer, and focused on Him. And subsequently this is the best way to live.
