Over the past year I’ve found myself at home with my sewing machine again, after quite some time of being too impatient to sew and using other means of creative expression instead.
But as I’ve welcomed a niece into my life I’ve found it to be a wonderful little outlet to be able to create and see her grow wearing the outfits I’ve sewn with love.
And with that same notion of sewing with love I feel so blessed that in this pandemic as we’ve battled Covid and restrictions and lockdowns and mandatory mask use that I’ve been able to use my gifts and talents for good. Not just because I’m able to provide people with masks which we’ve found ourselves needing more and more but because I’ve been able to create with purpose.
My slogan for my mask sales being “wearing is caring” not only is it caring for those around us as we choose to mask up and help stop the spread but 95% of my sales goes towards TLC children’s home in Johannesburg; a place very close to my heart. So it’s special that my god given gifts have helped me to send over $2000 worth of masks funds in the last year.
So as I sew ‘With Love’ I sew because God has given me the ability to create and share that.
