Three sport writers Jeremy Dover, Wes Tronson and David Goodwin
The Press Service International young writer awards have consistently had an enthusiastic touch – and no less this year leading up to the annual young writers conference on the Sunshine Coast - Saturday 12 August.
These Basil Sellers Young Writer Awards fall into various categories and next year it will all change again after the Awards Commission reports back initiating fresh parameters – but this year they remain as they have been since the awards were established in 2013.

The statistician for the Australian, Internationals and Sport young writers Bill Chilcott from Canberra has stated the marks were extremely close up to the end of Cycle 4 with the one Cycle remaining.
A set of panellists for each category marked the young writers for the first 5 Cycles (6 months) and those points were sent to Bill Chilcott after each round of marking.
Equally close are the Kiwi young writers with New Zealand statistician Christina Tyson says their marks were within a hair's breath, again to the end of Cycle 4 with the one Cycle remaining.
We await with much anticipation as to who are the Basil Sellers Young Writer Award winners for 2017.

Dr Mark Tronson is a Baptist minister (retired) who served as the Australian cricket team chaplain for 17 years (2000 ret) and established Life After Cricket in 2001. He was recognised by the Olympic Ministry Medal in 2009 presented by Carl Lewis Olympian of the Century. He mentors young writers and has written 24 books, and enjoys writing. He is married to Delma, with four adult children and grand-children. Dr Tronson writes a daily article for Christian Today Australia (since 2008) and in November 2016 established Christian Today New Zealand.
