The 2020 young writer annual conference is 5 weeks away - on the Gold Coast - Saturday 12 September. The program is forming as it does a month before all our annual conferences.
Some things stay the same - the morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea slots remain in the same static time slots.
Lunch is different this year - as Hungry Jacks, McDonalds are opposite the LTCC facility (Tugun) and several coffee shops and eateries 100 metres up the road, BYO is the lunch motto this year.
Now that those logistics are out of the way, we can focus on the program.
The annual Basil Sellers Awards are at the usual time slot at 4.00pm - we finish the day after the awards.
Afternoon session
Every year the young writers want time out for small group sessions - this will again happen this year. 1.30pm-2.30pm are these groups with small group leaders from the Young Writer Brain’s Trust
Sam Gillespie
Russell Modin
Rebecca Moore
Amy Manners
Cartia Moore
Last session of the day
After the small group session (after lunch) - the young writers will come together facilitated by Russell Modlin and Rebecca Moore as we did last year.
This is an invaluable time where a lot of information and ideas are gathered.
Morning sessions
The morning sessions are plenary’s and this year is no different. We are planning on the continuation of the Amy Manners and Cartia Moore session from last year on the IT distribution of their articles.
This session last year being led by two young writers who knew their business in the IT world and engaged in on-line writing.
The second plenary we have one of the distinguished young writers Joseph Kolapudi engaged in missionary activities in various parts of the world to speak about being involved in the community, missions or networks your engaged.
Times
9.45am - 5.00pm
LTCC facility – Tugun - adjacent to the Gold Coast airport
This is the same time as last year and previous years - it allows people to fly into the Gold Coast airport in the morning and then fly home (if required) in the very late afternoon or early evening.
Some will want to stay over for the weekend.
