The international young writers commenced a new era in 2021 in becoming separate to Press Service International in Australia in their being published in Christian Today.
Way back in 2012 international young writers were welcomed into the young writer program with Christian Today and leading to 2018 where a program known as ‘Stand Alone’ developed where the internationals ‘stood alone’.
Over these past three years the ‘Stand Alone’ philosophy led by Jason Lalone in Chicago US - the articles for the following publishing week would be collated from the editors and then forwarded to Christian Today.
This worked well. There are 20 international young writers. This is no small undertaking - coordinator who sends the reminders for the due date. Editor who engages in the young writer’s articles. The publishing dates added. Then Stand Alone with the articles as a pack sent to Christian Today.
In 2021 after three years of ‘Stand Alone’ the international young writers have become separate to Australia.
Susan Barnes is the coordinator who sends reminders for their articles to be sent into her by the due date.
Josh Robbie is the editor who checks over the articles and sends some back for specific issues.
Ashea West is the new Stand Alone - adds the publishing dates that come from the list sent to Christian Today – collates the articles and forwards to Christian Today.
Weeks 4 and 5
Week 4 are the 18-30 years International young writers publishing days, whereas Week 5 are the Over 31s international young writers. There are 5 weeks in each Cycle. Do the maths, 10 Cycles a year – 10 articles a year.
The international seniors writers fall into a different category, these international have come through the young writer and or the Over 31s and fall into the senior writer program. They are different and treated differently to the 18-30s and the Over 31s.
These international senior writers are published in the ‘senior writer’ program which consists of publishing days in Weeks 1, 2 and 3. These are Australian and International senior writers, whereas the New Zealand senior writers are published in Week 4.
