There are only two months from 2019 – January may be a little late to start 2019 planning. The good news is that Well-Being Australia has several dates booked for specific ministries and other’s that function all year round.
Laguna Quays Respite
This mission’s cottage on the Whitsundays, opened in 2011 and with an astonishingly busy visitors scenario, continues to be available to missionaries, chaplains, home missioners, pastors ….. there is no cost for the accommodation and those who fly in have available to them a discounted AVIS rental.

Young writers with Christian Today
The young writer ministry is celebrating 10 years in 2019. It was initiated with five young sport writers when the editor asked Dr Mark Tronson to add to his daily column, a ‘sport’ article.
From there it has grown to 85 young people from Australia, New Zealand and 18 international young people from England, Canada, USA, West Indies, Mozambique, South Africa, China …..
National young writer conferences have been held every year since 2010 (except 2012 when State meetings were held) and since 2013 a video has been produced and these can be viewed at

2019 young writer’s conference
Date - 10 August 2019
Venue - Craigieburn Salvation Army, Melbourne
This is the same venue as the 2018 One Day in Melbourne and 2019 One Day in Melbourne – seminars of IT for missions.
Capt. Peter Brookshaw of Craigieburn Sallies who is hosting the 2019 conference is a young ‘emerging’ writer and the editor of the Week 3 young writers and an internationally acclaimed blogger.
Annual Awards
A large feature of the young writer program are the annual awards presented at each annual conference. These are determined by several sets of panellists who mark the young writers, whose points are collated by several sets of statisticians and then presented at the conference.
This will happen again on the 10 August 2019 in Melbourne as it was the first annual awards conference way back in 2013 in Melbourne.

2018 young writer’s conference
Dr Mark Tronson is a Baptist minister (retired) who served as the Australian cricket team chaplain for 17 years (2000 ret) and established Life After Cricket in 2001. He was recognised by the Olympic Ministry Medal in 2009 presented by Carl Lewis Olympian of the Century. He mentors young writers and has written 24 books, and enjoys writing. He is married to Delma, with four adult children and grand-children. Dr Tronson writes a daily article for Christian Today Australia (since 2008) and in November 2016 established Christian Today New Zealand.
