Your love wraps around me,
Your forgiveness sets me free.
The power of your blood wipes my sins away,
The power of your love makes my anxieties fray.
You continue to hold me tight,
Even when I have no might.
I let myself walk away,
Yet you have always guided the way.
When my anxiety and anger makes me broil,
Your guidance’s never let me toil.
For I have sinned,
Your love has not thinned.
When my world comes crashing,
I know you’ll always be the one catching.
And as I lay awake my mind rushing,
You hold me tight and remind me it’s nothing.
As a dove flies by,
Your love will never die.
You hear every cry, every plea, every need,
Every tear you dry, every prayer you see, you continue to lead.
My love for you not always visible,
Your love is never invisible.
You take my pains and heal my diseases,
Putting back together my broken pieces.
You are The King,
All encompassing and loving.
A hug of love….
The greatest hug to wrap and encompass us in our life on earth truly is the love of God, no matter whether we are near or far, sinning or praising, leaning into or leaning away from him God truly is an all-encompassing King whose love is always present in our lives whether we see it or not.
I for one have often strayed from God in my times of trial. I question if God loves us so deeply then why do we experience these challenges in life? I often find myself angry at life’s challenges and the paths I find myself on.
But no matter the challenge, no matter the reason for my anger, no matter whether I lean into his love, he wraps us up into his arms and covers us with his love. He heals our broken pieces and diseases even when we don’t ask him to.His love covers every little inch of the world that surrounds us.
As we sit in darkness, as we struggle to see the light at the end of the tunnel, he holds us and our future in his hands, he knows the path ahead of us, and he knows the reason for the seasons even when we struggle to see it.
The power of God’s Love….
“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”(Ephesians chapter 3, verses 18-19 NLT)
I wish that in every moment of struggle, in every trial and in every moment of my life that I would have complete understanding of God’s love for us as his people, that every inch of my life and being would be aware of our saviour’s deep and pure love and the power of it.
I often write as a way of expressing my emotions. Sometimes I don’t even realise what words are finding their way onto the page. For me, writing and poetry is one of my ways that I connect with God and feel close to him.
I’m continuously amazed at the gifts and talents he gives us to possess during our time on earth. As much as I’m continuously amazed by the gifts God gives us,I’m also completely in awe of the power of God’s love that he wraps us in.
Today I take this as a reminder for myself of our King’s all-encompassing and loving presence in our life.
I am a Young Salvationist who lives in Upper Hutt, Wellington. I am passionate about enhancing the life experiences of others and do this in my paid employment as a Support worker for those with Intellectual Disabilities and as a volunteer leader for GirlGuiding New Zealand. I love to create, write and travel the world and have a passion for submerging myself in the cultures of each place I travel. I left my heart in Africa a month before Covid sent the world into lockdown and I cannot wait to be able to return and serve in a continent that stole so much of my heart.
