The grim perception of Biden/ Harris winning the 2020 US Election seemed to be enough to set Donald Trump on another purge to save the American people from a possible four years of democratic governance. However, with his dedication to redeeming the election and exposing multiple US states for their unethical stewardship of the peoples’ voice, many people see Trump as a sore loser for not conceding; but conceding in the face of deception and lies is a contradiction to the role of leadership.
What if Trump is right about election fraud but doesn’t win the election? It would be the catalyst of political reformation in the US and would achieve the very goal Trump set out to accomplish—draining the swamp. I believe this action would define him as the leader the American people voted for in 2016.
Final Stand (the character and purpose of the leader)
If this were Donald Trump’s last act as President, challenging the electoral system and attempting to expose corruption would possibly be the most presidential action he or any other president has taken and be considered the capstone operation of his leadership. Why? Because the recent history of presidents and even presidential candidates has sought to hide and cover-over the questionable actions of the government and themselves, bleeding deception and corruption throughout the US and causing the American people to question the motives of politicians.
Hilary Clinton is a classic example of deceit and corruption, in-fact, before Trump was even elected, he had called Hillary out on her infamous email scandal, where she had also received correspondence through a non-government server. Rather than revealing the character of Hillary, this accusation should’ve served as an assessment of President Trump’s dedication to Truth (aside from also being a campaign strategy).
So, whether Trump is right about electoral fraud or not, a true leader would explore the possibility of corruption for the benefit of the people. Anyone that disagrees with that might have to admit to their own political bias, before realising they’re stuck in a very comfortable bubble. Why would you want a leader that isn’t working towards revealing truth and hitting the reset button on modern leadership before it gets out of hand or one that holds the powerful, accountable?
Reveals a broken system
Attempting to challenge the ethics of a very old and trusted voting system has been taken as if Trump is intending on committing electoral fraud himself by overturning the current results past the due date (Nov 3).
The media has convinced people that the US election only lasts for one day and the results recorded on that day are final. It’s not. The 20th Amendment in the US Constitution states that the sitting President remains in power until January 20 when it is then transferred over to the successors. There is technically no ‘President Elect’ until Trump concedes, as much as Biden and Harris would hate to admit.
Not only does the election recount reveal an easily corruptible electoral system, but a complacent country that listens to mainstream media as if they wrote the constitution themselves.
The search for truth
I’m not under the impression that Donald Trump is a perfect man or a perfect President by any means, however, the mark of a godly leader can be identified by the fruits of the Holy Spirit, as anything good can be.
It’s no coincidence that lies and deceit brought sin into the world in Genesis with Adam and Eve, because since the beginning of time, truth has been linked with God and in return, all effective leadership should be an advocate for truth and the exploitation of lies.
