There’s a common theme that rears its head in Christian discussions as of late, and it’s the polarising belief that the vaccine either is or definitely isn’t the mark of the beast from revelation. I couldn’t comment either way on this thought but rather I can now see how this would open a heavy door for such a time in history to be realised.
These discussions of ‘end times’ relevance to our current situation allow us to see with open eyes and hopefully shift our hearts towards the unsaved. But all of this brings about further questions like; If we know end times are coming, is it worth resisting the installation of such restrictions if they’re inevitable? And; will it be too late before our eyes are open to the real mark of the beast?
These questions are hard to answer, so none of this article is an opinion but rather a social reflection through a fact based scope that should only make the reader think for themselves. Romans 14 mentions the frivolity of quarrelling over conscience matters that can only divide people, so I’ll judge your opinions quietly and from a distance instead.
Scotty from marketing
Whilst studying marketing at university, I was introduced to a psychological strategy called ‘nudge’ or nudge theory which has become very popular with large enterprises. The general idea is to avoid using large ‘buy me’ signs and start encouraging consumers to desire something by making the consumer aware of their perceived lack in a series of small nudges. This strategy is most effective when the consumer believes that it’s their own thinking that brought them to the conclusion.
Positive reinforcement is a huge factor in this theory’s success, as it uses indirect motivators to encourage good behaviour or good outcomes (buying a product). So when I see people posting a photo after being vaccinated and then claiming a moral high-ground against their fellow citizens, I can only imagine the vaccine marketing team sitting in a high rise sipping on whiskey and laughing about how easy their job is now while money rains from the governments covid bailout budget and into their wallets.
Now taking this a step further, Scott Morrison’s latest steps to freedom includes a mass scale of this concept, to the point where benefits and positive reinforcement now await the superior vaccine-having citizens. So if you’re looking for the love and adoration of your government, look no further. But for those of us not willing to take the vaccine for various reasons, Scomo has drawn a very discriminate line in society that will ultimately divide people based on objections of conscience and archaic tribal mentality. Whether the vaccine is good or bad, what must remain is the freedom to say no.
Doesn’t the government have our best interests at heart?
Short answer, no, you can’t trust the government to have your best interests at heart, because like you, they are only human and have competing interests of money and power before they’re likely to think about greater good. Recent commentary’s on covid19 and the vaccine situation identifies an underlying and yet honest conspiracy to march in a new form of governance and economic system under the white flag of safety.
The legitimacy of these clams proves themselves true this far as politicians, public figures and media all ring the same bell of ‘the great reset’ and a recent example is Scott Morrison’s four stage plan of "Australia gets vaccinated, Australia is able to live differently," he stated, a contradiction to “back to normal”.
The new four phase plan ends with a final stage of ‘back to normal’ which is in fact, not back to normal as this stage now means that vaccinated people can travel freely again. Now read that again, but slowly. The key words here being ‘Vaccinated people’ can now move freely insinuates an exclusion of unvaccinated people from this freedom.
I don’t know what Mr Morrison thinks is ‘back to normal’ but that certainly isn’t it. Furthermore, this suggests a heavy policing of the unvaccinated and alienation to society.
Centralised control is the ultimate outcome of such a plan, and reeks of communist ideology and relinquishment of personal responsibility.
Once again, none of this is about vaccine ethics or opinions but about the mutual desire to preserve everyone’s freedom to object a vaccine as we have been able to in the past. As Martyn Iles mentions, this is a crisis that has been exploited for competing interests of others and in under the many masks of covid the truth is hard to find.
