When I was eleven years old I had a mental breakdown which was birthed out of a medical disorder that I was born with. This was an intense time for me where I all I want to do was end my life at this stage of my journey. I had a spirit of fear and anxiety in my life. I didn't know what would be next for me. I was in a midst of a journey of constant bullying and I had no success at school where
I was four years academically behind my age level. I had no purpose and I was being knocked to the ground every day as I would walk through the school gate. There was so much fear that tried to come upon me in that season. I learnt that I had grab hold of the courage and the boldness of God in the midst of the valley of rejection.
One area I know that the enemy tries to distract people from is rejection. The enemy doesn't want people to be in relationships that will lead us forward into closer intimacy with the Holy Spirit. I stand today on the other side of this valley in Godly confidence as a Child of God full of courage with many friends because I didn't allow the valley to control me but as I placed my trust and confidence in the Lord then he changed me.
You may not be going through rejection like me but there maybe an area in your life that you need to be encouraged to live in courage in. I pray that the remainder of this article will empower you into living the life that Jesus has called you to live in. I want to share a couple of areas that I pray will encourage you to live the life of courage that you have been placed on this earth to live and that is will help you when you go through a valley.
Spend time in the Presence of God.
When I was walking through the rejection journey when I was eleven I had an encounter with the Lord that changed the rest of my life. A encounter that would set me up in his presence that would lead me in a life time of courage. It was the Lord’s is presence and it is his presence that constantly moulds me into the Man of God that I am today.
My plea is to encourage others to gain courage by spending time in his presence by coming into his word daily, (finding a bible reading plan on You Version that will empower you in your season) or spending time away like Jesus did to spend time with his Father on the mountain to pray. Get a playlist on Spofify of Praise and Worship Music that will empower you forward into the joy of his presence. This will help. I encourage others being the children of God that he has called you and I to be in the midst of finding courage.
Do not give up
How we live in courage is to not give up on what the Lord has promised. We have to be a people that don't give up on the promise that he has called us to walk in. There has been many occasions in my journey where I could have given up - but because of my faith in Jesus I kept on keeping on secure in his presence on a daily basis that gave me the faith to not give up in the midst of the storm.
I pray that others too are blessed to help to continually live in courage.
