Make His name famous

By Aaron Sabio - Press Service International

“Fear points you to the exact destiny that you are supposed to take hold of…” she encouraged as we neared the end of our phone interview. As the call ended, I sat down to think about the deeply convicting words she had just spoken and I began to walk in the designed purpose of her company. I glorified God.

I recently had the privilege of meeting the founder of Glorify Apparel, Sarah Garcia, at a mutual friend’s wedding.

Upon hearing about the global impact of her faith-based apparel company during the wedding reception, I had to make it a point to follow up with Sarah and get the behind the scenes look at Glorify Apparel.

The Beginning

Since the beginning dreams of Glorify Apparel in 2008 to the official launch in April 2014, her company has been committed to giving back.

Every month, Sarah’s company gives back to her charity partners, A21, a company devoted to abolishing human trafficking, and Empowering Lives International, a company that builds water wells, schools, training centers, and more in Tanzania, Africa. (For more information on A21 and Empowering Lives International, please visit, GlorifyApparel.org)

As she began selling her t-shirts at her local church bookstore, she continued to seek the Lord for design concepts that would create gospel centered messages that point people to Jesus. As God would prove Himself faithful in building a small team, her twin brother, Sal Garcia, stepped up to make the official Glorify Apparel website. Soon after, God added models, photographers, and social media volunteers to “Make His Name Famous” (one of Glorify Apparel’s design taglines).

The Hardships

As Glorify Apparel launched itself to the public, Sarah navigated through doubts that many threw her way. Pushing through demeaning comments and the fear of potential failure, Sarah stepped out in faith and started to walk in God’s miraculous for her life. She has learned to simply trust and obey the leading of the Lord. Now on Instagram alone, Glorify Apparel has the audience of 33 thousand followers that are reminded that they are deeply loved by God.

God has used Glorify Apparel to magnify Himself. Scrolling through social media you’ll come across prominent singers and athletes sporting their new Glorify Apparel merchandise. They too have partnered up with Sarah in sharing the Good News.

The Encouragements

You can stay up to date on how God is using Sarah by following Glorify Apparel on Instagram and Facebook.

Driven to make the most of each moment, Sarah encourages us to “not be the kind of people that die in their 20’s and are buried in their 70’s.” She continued, “Even if you can’t see the 12 step plan for your life, take the first step, and watch the waters part.”

Today, we are reminded that God is still in the business of using His people for His glory. Sarah’s story is one of the spectacular ways that God is drawing lost people to Himself.

What’s your story? Will you step to be used by God? Will you, “Make His Name Famous?”
