Is your life busy? Do you ever stop? Does your life keep you so busy that you are always on the move?
So often we can fill our lives with STUFF that we end up blocking out what God is trying to say to us. We all need to come to a place where we STOP! Stop trying to do and start listening. Take a moment where all you do is to seek direction in what the Lord is wanting to do and release into your life.
Attending a conference
This year I have been very busy with work, ministry and life. A month ago I got offered a free ticket to go to a conference. It was an incredible time where the Lord did a work in my heart.
I had never been to this conference before but my expectation was high in what the Lord wanted to do. As I walked into the arena on the first night, I sensed the presence of God in a way that I had never encountered before. A presence of breakthrough and anointing that breathed freedom in my life.
Breakthroughs
Throughout the week the Lord broke isolation and loneliness off me. It was a powerful time as the Lord began to break my heart for what breaks his. I felt selfish but I was on every altar call worshipping the Lord for breakthrough in my life. The Holy Spirit spoke into my heart at every session and he ministered to me.
There was a sense of greater intimacy in the Lord as he began to reveal his plan over my life. A sense of greater faith was released into my heart as I sought what the Lord was releasing in my heart over this week.
There were moments where I went away from the conference on my own and those were defining moments for me. Moments of greater hope were restored as I sought God on our breaks. There was a sense of wonder as I walked down Queen Street and the presence of God would touch me as he began to speak to me what he is doing in this season.
I was in a session where the Lord began to give me a vision for the city that I live in like never before. It was a vision to see Evangelism and Discipleship poured out upon my life like it hasn't before. As the Worship Team began to sing a song called “More to Come” there was a release of Heaven that was poured out upon my heart.
Preparation for greater things
The Lord was beginning to turn things around for his good in my life. Through these moments of worship, sitting under incredible preaching and through the Holy Spirit ministering to me it has prepared me for seeing the Great Commission fulfilled. Moments like these empower you to go through the next steps in Life no matter what will come your way.
As I left the conference I met these guys on the train. I started a conversation with them and found out they were Jehovah Witnesses. I shared the Gospel with them and they surrendered this lives to Jesus. How great is our God! A moment of encounter so four young people say yes to Jesus on a train.
Our lives can get so busy that we don’t give time for God to speak into our life. When we stop and listen amazing things can happen. I took a week to go to a conference, for you it may be holiday, talking to a random on a train, starting to write in a journal, talk to God, getting out or even going to church or a conference.
God wants to speak and encourage us in all we do and that means stopping from the busyness and running to him. Moments with Him will empower us in all that is ahead.
