Don’t you hate it when someone else tries to finish your sentences for you? Married men will know what I am talking about. The wife, God bless her, knowing that her husband is bound to miss important details, will often autocorrect her husband and finish the story he started with a dash of added drama and exaggeration for effect.
Most of the time, she lands the plane not too far from our intended runway and all is well. As long as the people we are conversing with arrive at the point of what we are saying, everyone is satisfied. Occasionally, even though the wife knows her husband better than anyone else, she gets it wrong. Husbands, contrary to popular belief, do have a mind of their own, and occasionally, away from the presence of family and friends, will even use it.
This means, once in a blue moon, the husband, summons all his courage and corrects the wife for assuming to know what he was trying to say. Fights ensue, the wife now questioning whether she married the right person. The husband left alone to question whether he actually did have the experience he was talking about and why he shared it anyway, being such a trivial thing to begin with.
Women tend to hone their telepathic gifts better than men do, largely because women care, and want to know, what others think. Men rarely say what they are thinking, and that is the problem. It takes time to develop understanding between each other, learning to live with our differences. Our wives know what we are thinking, and we husbands know she knows what we are thinking. This is why we like to close our minds and take a holiday on the couch until the inevitable time comes to be trapped into repeating what she just said because she knows we weren’t really listening to her. It’s a wonderful game.
These days spouses spend far more time with their smart electronic devices than each other. It is no secret that smart devices are actively engaged in creating algorithms through which artificial intelligence may expand and telepathically run….and potentially, ruin our lives. Strangers and computers are completing our sentences and dominating our conversations. No wonder the first A.I bot was given the features of a woman. There are people out there who think they know what we all think and as such want to absorb our thoughts until we begin to think like they think.
The struggle
Imagine how quickly formerly freedom loving people now mimic broadcasted authoritarian attitudes since Covid-19. Mainstream media is scolding us for saying or talking about the wrong things like some domineering wife. Do we not know its bad manners to talk about the potential threats of 5G while we are locked-down due to Coronavirus?! The lady liberty of democratic freedom who has been so attractive to many has turned into an over-bearing tyrant overnight. Dumbfounded, many now ask, “who in the world did we marry?”
Artificial intelligence is also seducing us like a strange woman, and she is absorbing institutions and governments along the way. Will her paths lead us into hell? Layer by layer she shows her wares while we struggle to turn away. Will she empty our pockets while she empties our heads? Are we taking fire into our bosom?
As of today, a vast proportion of the world and I, cannot go outside without permission. No pub with your mates, no parties, no sport, no church gatherings. Not content with that, so called beautiful democracy, now armed with permission to comb our data, won’t even let us speak or think for ourselves. We are punished for going out and constantly nagged while we stay in. We are not allowed to finish our conversations; she must interrupt and have the final say. Are we happy to continue living with this strange woman’s algorithms? Constantly assuming what’s best for us?
Do you want your smartphone deciding what you must say, your smart-car deciding where you must go, your data deciding your societal worth? Do we want harassment for taking the dog for a walk 2 weeks ago, and punished for having an opinion that disagrees with this Babylonian mistress who has wooed the kings of the earth into her lap?
Have you noticed that mainstream media is aimed at the simple and gullible? She calls to those who fail to consult their conscience or ask questions. One night in her embrace has turned free men into fearful worms. For many, this virus is not the real source of our fear, for if no one told us to stay inside, many would still go outside, knowing there remains the possibility of sickness and/or death. Moral philosophizing aside about social responsibility, most of humanity does not embrace fear until someone tells them to embrace it. Fear is not based on the object itself but almost exclusively upon the news concerning it.
The power we have
This is the reason sharing the good news about Jesus Christ is so powerful! Circumstances can become worse and worse yet we who believe have no fear because the news we have received and based our life upon is so good!
I fear A.I has become once strong people’s modern Delilah. She squeezes and squeezes for the source of our strength in order to share our secrets with those who hate us and wish to exploit us. God help us if we give in like Samson and allow her to take our covenant DNA and hand it to our enemies. Samson could not be controlled by the authorities until he gave up his secret.
Have we given all ours away yet? Call it a conspiracy, but there are forces that want us to be blind puppets and performers in their games. Yet strength can re-emerge even in our captivity. I believe soon men of God will arise that will bring down the very pillars supporting the Ivory towers of our oppressors. Some will be martyrs.
Now is the time to remember we Christians are no longer mere mortals and look back to the rock from which we were hewn. Return to your stronghold you prisoners of hope, for, “Lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the age”. Our power is coming back.
